MFC & CFCE

Valuing Our Children Family Center houses the Massachusetts Family Center (MFC) program funded by the Children’s Trust and Coordinated Family and Community Engagement (CFCE) program, funded by Early Education and Care.  These programs partner together to provide a welcoming environment of family support and parenting education while encouraging children’s early learning and growing.

Playgroups are for families from the North Quabbin Area with children aged newborn to five. Parents and children enjoy free playtime with the play kitchen, sand table, hide away tent, pretend farmer's market, and many more toys and books. Occasionally we have crafts and activities and we end each group with a circle time filled with stories, songs, and movement.

Parent-Child special events include story walks through local parks, trails, and libraries. Families read a book, which is posted on signs throughout the walk and enjoy activities along the way. Other events include puppet shows, gingerbread decorating, and preschool science shows.

Ages and Stages Questionnaire is a tool for parents to assess their own child's development.  Once the screening is complete, VOC will share with the parent the results and different activities the parent can do with their child to help support any areas of need. VOC will also help connect families with the appropriate services if needed.  Families will also receive a brand new book each time an ASQ is done. Valuing Our Children holds several special events and Parent Workshops throughout the year. Please watch our Facebook page or our Calendar for upcoming events and flyers.
